Read the Wonderland row carefully. Wonderland publishes monthly rates, not annual ones. Third-party school directories have listed Wonderland's tuition at figures approaching $25,000, which does not reflect what the school publishes. It is also accredited by ACTABS, the Accreditation Commission of the Texas Association of Baptist Schools, and is a member of TAPPS for athletics.

Cognia is a widely recognized regional accreditor and its credits are broadly accepted. It is worth knowing, though, that San Marcos Academy is not listed with the Texas Private School Accreditation Commission. TEPSAC recognition is the mechanism Texas public schools most commonly use for automatic credit acceptance when a student transfers back into a public district. School hours are 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for PreK through 1st grade and 8:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. for grades 2 through 12. For a two-income household relocating from a market where five-day schedules are universal, that Friday is a genuine planning question — childcare, activities, or a parent's schedule has to absorb it.
