Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School
Start with the address, because it trips up nearly everyone. OLPH sits at 16075 N. Evans Road in a 78154 ZIP code that most people read as Schertz, and plenty of directories file it that way. The school itself says Selma. Both are defensible. What matters practically is that it is the Catholic elementary school for this whole northeast pocket — its own site names Selma, Schertz, Cibolo, and greater San Antonio as its service area, and its families come out of Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City, Judson, Comal, Marion, and Randolph Field.
It is also the oldest institution on this page by a wide margin, founded in 1901 and originally taught in German by the Sisters of Divine Providence. That history shows up in the shape of the place: a full athletics program, a parish woven through daily life, and the kind of multigenerational family enrollment that a newer school cannot manufacture. For a military family arriving at Randolph, the proximity is hard to beat. For a Cibolo family, it is roughly ten minutes northwest — which, in the absence of anything inside Cibolo itself, is the commute.

About Cibolo — and about Legacy Traditional School
Cibolo has no private K–12 school. Search for one and you will be handed Legacy Traditional School on Cibolo Valley Drive, a well-liked K–8 campus that opened in 2022. It is not a private school. It is a tuition-free public charter school, and several major directories categorize it incorrectly. If you are budgeting for private tuition in Cibolo, budget for a drive instead: north to Selma, or south to Seguin.

Two schools, two very different propositions — and the corridor's only private high school.
St. James Catholic School
St. James sits on South Camp Street, a few blocks off Seguin's courthouse square, and it claims the oldest building in Texas continuously operated as a school. Whatever you make of that particular superlative, the school's character is not in dispute: it is small, it is parish-anchored, and it runs a full athletics slate for a campus its size. Families consistently describe an administration that turned a corner in recent years.
One thing to know going in, because it is the sort of detail a tour will not lead with: St. James carries obligations beyond tuition. Thirty family service hours per year, billed at $20 an hour if unserved. A $200 Catholic Life Raffle commitment. A technology fee. None of it is unusual for a parish school, and none of it is hidden — the school publishes all of it plainly. But a family pricing this against a public district should add it up honestly.

Lifegate Christian School
Lifegate is the outlier here, and the reason is simple arithmetic: it is the only private school between Schertz and Seguin that will take your child through twelfth grade. Everything else in this corridor stops at eighth. If you are relocating with a high schooler and you want a private option without driving into San Antonio, this is the list — and it is a list of one.
It sits on thirteen acres a couple of miles southeast of Seguin on FM 466, a ministry of Lifegate Church since 1981. It is small, and it is candid about being small. The honest caveat, and it comes straight from Lifegate's own students: the elective and AP catalog is thin, and the sports offerings are limited to basketball, volleyball, track, and cheer. Students who want a wide menu of advanced coursework say so plainly in their reviews. Students who want small classes, teachers who know them, and a school where everyone knows everyone say that just as plainly. Those are both true, and which one governs depends entirely on the child you are enrolling.

Seguin Christian Academy on East Kingsbury Street operated from 2012 and has closed. It is still returned by search engines and still carries live-looking profiles on multiple school directories. If it surfaces in your research, it is not an option. This is not a rare failure mode — private school directories are frequently slow to reflect closures, which is why every school on this page was checked against its own website rather than a listing.

All three schools now reference TEFA on their own tuition pages, and awarded funds can offset tuition in part or in full.
